The University of Victoria is home to about 21,500 undergraduate and graduate students and 900 faculty. Continuously ranked among the best universities in Canada, and the world, UVic offers world-class education and research. The garden-like campus is easy to reach by Public Transport from anywhere in Victoria.

Lectures, posters, breaks etc will take place in the David Lam Auditorium & Lobby MAC A144 (MacLaurin Building).

Workshop accommodation will be available in student housing  ≫Accommodation.

Travel to Canada

Travel to Victoria

Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is easy to reach with connections from Vancouver, Seattle, Calgary, and Toronto. The airport is ca. 25 km from UVic and from downtown Victoria, which both can be reached with Taxis (~CAD $ 65 one way); the Airport Shuttle is currently (March '22) suspended.

From Vancouver Airport (YVR) you have the option to travel to Victoria by bus and ferry with the BC Ferry Connector (~4hrs).
Moreover, there are connections by car ferries from Vancouver and Port Angeles (USA), as well as connections by seaplane, helicopter, or boat from Vancouver and Seattle:

Victoria, BC

Beautiful Victoria is the capital of British Columbia, the most western Canadian Province. Located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria has the mildest climate in Canada. Victoria boasts historic buildings, the lively harbour and downtown areas, and beautiful ocean and mountain vistas. As an international tourist destination, Victoria is home to a wide variety of hotels, restaurants and shops. Things to see include the Royal BC Museum, Chinatown, Parliament building, Empress Hotel, Beacon Hill Park, and Butchart Gardens. Whale watching tours are available at the harbour.
